Odayr Baptista

Founding partner of Clube da Voz, he was an active professional in commercial voice-over until his death.

Born in Poços de Caldas, he began his career in his hometown in 1956.

After passing a test, he joined Rádio Record in São Paulo, where he presented news and humor programs.

At Rádio Bandeirantes, he also started working on TV as a presenter and even participated as an actor in the soap opera “Ricardinho, sou criança e quero viver”.

In 1971, Odayr went to Jovem Pan, where he was invited by Estevam Sangirardi to play the hilarious characters of the "Show de Rádio".

Odayr presented Estevam with his project, which would become a huge success on radio stations in the 1970s: “Rádio Camanducaia” – a fictional radio station in the countryside with commercials and public service. Odayr also took his talent outside Brazil, having recorded in France and on Swiss National Radio. He did voiceovers in French, Spanish, English, Italian, German and Russian. He passed away on July 30, 2019, in São Paulo, at the age of 83.
